I moved to Eureka in 1976. Sam was already a legend because of his energy, personality and intelligence.
I got to know him much better when I was elected to the Coast Central Credit Union Board of Directors back in the early 1990”s. Sam had been a board member for several years before me and stayed on when I left.
Sam was a terrific guy and kept things fun even when we spent many hours pouring over dry financial statements. I will miss him a lot.
Thanks for your memories. Sam was one in a million.
