Sean Connery turned 90 on Tuesday. Yes, 90.
Why Trump’s use of the word ‘hoax’ is poisonous.:
From Brian Stelter: : While I was working on this edition of the newsletter, I joined Anderson Cooper for his special Sunday night edition of “AC360.” We discussed the fact that Trump has shouted the word “hoax” more than 250 times so far this year — that’s more than once a day on average.
On “Reliable,” Peter Pomerantsev likened Trump’s frequent use of the word to an “information war game.” He said it is a tactic used for “undermining people’s faith in anything” and in the long term “makes people feel helpless and passive, because if you can’t rely on anything out there, that means you can’t change anything, which means you need a strong leader like a Trump or a Putin.”
QUOTE OF THE DAY: “No, I don’t think *I’m* too old to be President. I’m 82. I feel like I’m at the peak of my understanding. … As you get older … you’re much wiser.” Former Gov. Jerry Brown on age, climate change and more via FOX11’S Elex Michaelson “
Trump once told Judge Andrew Napolitano, before souring on him, “Everything I know about the Constitution, I learned from you on ‘Fox & Friends.'” That explains a few things.
From POLITICO: @Bencjacobs: “Kanye West WILL NOT be in the ballot in MISSOURI. This is the 7th state that he has filed in where he did not qualify for the ballot. The other states are Wisconsin, Ohio, West Virginia, Illinois, Montana and New Jersey.”
NOT SO FAST — “FDA chief issues mea culpa for his plasma treatment claims,” by Caitlin Oprysko: “FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn issued a mea culpa late Monday, conceding that he had overstated the benefits of convalescent plasma as a treatment of coronavirus at a press conference last weekend with President Donald Trump. … “‘I have been criticized for remarks I made Sunday night about the benefits of convalescent plasma. The criticism is entirely justified,’ the commissioner said in a string of tweets. ‘What I should have said better is that the data show a relative risk reduction not an absolute risk reduction.’ While the therapy is considered safe, plasma has not yet been proven effective against the coronavirus.” POLITICO 68 days to the elections. |
