The current issue of Sunset Magazine lists, by region, the best places to live. For northern California, Sacramento is number one with runners-up being Eureka, Fresno, and Truckee. What makes this story interesting is the median home prices: Sacramento’s is $278,00 and Eureka’s is $252,500. Not much difference, and I remember how people would comment on how low housing costs were in Humboldt County (in the 60s, not so much now). (Fresno’s median is $197,100 and Truckee’s is $510,800.)
Yes, not much difference. I can’t believe Fresno made the list.
