According to the folks from Salon, it’s from right here in the neighborhood, well, sorta. I have never been a deep-dish fan- too doughy- and I’ve been to Malnati’s and the rest but the three Bay Area establishments mentioned herein sound worth checking out. Read it HERE.
From the Humboldt Bay Harbor Working Group:
Dredging Humboldt Bay Harbor
Eureka—The Humboldt Bay Harbor Working Group (HBHWG) presents Commissioner Larry Doss, District 1 and Commissioner Pat Higgins, District 5 of the Humboldt Bay Harbor, Recreation & Conservation District.
The Commissioners will share information on the current Dredging permitting plans and discussion on utilization of the dredged material in a safe manner to protect our local environment. Following their presentations there will be a panel discussion with Commissioner Pat Higgins, Captain Tod Reincke of Reincke Marine Fabrication, and one other from the Environmental point of view.
The Harbor Working Group’s luncheons are held on the last Wednesday of each month. Their programs focus on the development of the Port of Humboldt Bay as an international seaport. Last year, the presentations were directed to envisioning the Harbor as an international seaport. This year, the programs are dedicated to learning what can be done—and what is being done—to make it happen.
The luncheon is a “no host” event. Lunch starts being served at noon; and the presentation starts around 12:30.
Fried Chicken will be served for lunch at $16 and soup and salad is available for $12. Please RSVP at 707-441-1974 or email@example.com.
I complained a couple of weeks ago about Our Fake President’s replacement of normal press conferences with a daily screech in which he picks and chooses the questions he will deign to answer. POLITICO describes it better than I can. Read about it HERE.
THIS is what you want; enjoy them HERE.
The world is truly going nuts?? From Brian Stelter at CNN:” Food for thought: Imagine if Obama had literally proclaimed himself “the chosen one” on the South Lawn. How would Fox be covering? What would Sean Hannity’s 9pm monologue look like? I’m still trying to get my head around all that…” A lot of folks have been trying to. The consensus is that Trump is ‘way ‘way over his head and has fired everyone who could keep him from following his impulses. The next year and a half is gong to be rocky.
So in one week, Our Fake President tanks the stock market 600 points by threatening OUR companies to stop trading with China (like that’s going to happen), insults our NATO ally who points out that his oafish wish to buy Greenland is not supported by the residents there, and berates the Chair of the Fed, HIS appointee, for not cutting interest rates as quickly and as far as His Highness would wish.
AND if you want to see where Kristen Gillibrand eats dinner, head to the Rose’s Luxury, an oddly named establishment with a limited menu. Do your drooling right HERE.
A tweet from Former Gov. @JerryBrown: “Rolling back the Endangered Species Act is profoundly unwise. Mr. President, we humans are part of the web of life and dependent on other species for our well-being. You’ve done dumb things, and now you’re doing something utterly dangerous — unforgivable!”
