The country needs a leader. Instead we have a TV comic who tries to escape responsibility at every opportunity. Did you see the “briefing” in which someone asked him if he’d seen Alex Azar’s warning on the virus and his response was, “No, I didn’t see it and I didn’t look for it either.” Hey, that’ s leadership! Right? At this point the only question is : how many people will die because of his pig-headedness. He already has blood on his hands- the question is, how much.

Trump acknowledged he’s battled with Newsom in the past on borders, the environment and more, but now says: “Honestly… I’ve gotten very friendly with Gavin Newsom. He’s done a very good job here. … I mean, he’s been, I think, sort of a friend of mine for a long time. Don’t get to see him much.”
| (From POLITICO) THE PRESIDENT signaled this morning that he believes he’s the sole individual who can reopen the economy in individual states, which, according to the preponderance of evidence and the Constitution, is a questionable point of view — to say the least. PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP tweeted: “For the purpose of creating conflict and confusion, some in the Fake News Media are saying that it is the Governors[‘] decision to open up the states, not that of the President of the United States & the Federal Government. Let it be fully understood that this is incorrect…. “….It is the decision of the President, and for many good reasons. With that being said, the Administration and I are working closely with the Governors, and this will continue. A decision by me, in conjunction with the Governors and input from others, will be made shortly!” OF COURSE, there is little evidence that this is true. Governors have made decisions under their authority as state executives that it is unsafe to conduct commerce, and it’s not totally clear under what authority the president believes he can force states to reopen. “Police power,” as it is known, is given to the states from the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution.
