SHORT RIBS and RANDOM THOUGHTS, April 19, 2020 almost summer edition

There must be 10,000 Erik or Eric Nelsons in Minneapolis but the lawyer defending Derek Chauvin is the one we will all remember. He’s a helluva lawyer. Did anyone hear, of all people, PAT ROBERTSON opining that the way to get good cops is to pay them well. I’ve been saying that for years! The starting salary for EPD patrol should be $100K, period.

And didja hear about Mike “The Mooch” Pompeo, who never saw a Federal employee he didn’t want to press into personal service. The DOJ has apparently caught up with him and will be billing him for all those dogwalks and droppings -off of dry cleaning. He’s scum and deserves it.

But my favorite story this morning, about one of the founders of the so-called “Oathkeepers” taking a plea and agreeing to testify against his brethern about the insurrection. Hope they broadcast THAT.

Easter’s over and summer’s on the way. Why don’t I feel cheerier? Here’s something that may look familiar, right HERE.

Are you excited about the $20 tix to Burbank? I guess I would be if I wanted to go to Burbank. I hope to never fly again, actually

I was sorry to see the Amazon results. I think Bezos could part with a billion or two for the workers. Maybe next time.

REALLY nice day. See you soon.

Is it “Cancel culture” or something more interesting? I’m talking about the unholy blood lust to can our current Gov while he’s still figuring out which drawer he put his pens in. Weren’t any of you around for our LAST recall? The one where we dumped Gray Davis and anded up with Arnie?? Arnie was pretty much our worst governor ever. Poor baby couldn’t stand to spend the night in Sac so he flew home to LA every night.. Gavin Newsom ought to have more sense than with to eat at the French Laundry with everyone gunning for him, but he’s been a surprisingly sensible Governor. I’ll vote for him.

FISH FARMING- Our little experiment with the goldfish has not been without casualties. The black one died right away . We are now going for four, not five fish and things are looking good. The Black Moor is very shy but seems healthy..

MANZANILLA- we must have been the last people in town to check out this place. Every time we wanted to go they were closed. Now they have settled on a breakfast and lunch menu and we were delighted with the takeout we go on Friday. I got a chicken-bacon-pesto san and he got a Cubano which was embellished with what tasted like homemade dill pickles. The fries and the onion rings disappeared quickly and altogether we would try them again.
